Summer Sun [Harford County Engagement Session]

Saturday night I had the opportunity to photograph such a fun and beautiful couple. Eric and Christina are getting married in 2014 and I am thrilled to be their photographer for their big day. These two have been together for a long time and it shows. Not because they are old or boring but because their love is deep and they are so comfortable and real with each other.

I love catching Eric in a grin – Christina knows how to make him smile.

The sun was setting and provided us with a beautiful warm glow for the evening. I always suggest the hour before sunset to everyone – it’s the best! Love this one.

Christina – you are gorgeous!! I love the way you smile at your man. So in love!

Our session was at Annie’s Playground. If you’ve ever been there you know that it is a kid’s dream but there are also beautiful fields and stunning scenery right across the parking lot. The backdrop was perfect for this handsome couple.

I love old barns and with Christina’s adorable cowboy boots how could we resist?

I’ll end with one of my favorites. The warm light and the warm love – a perfect combination.

Thanks for a wonderful night! I hope you enjoy your preview!

Matt & Heather = Perfect Timing [Engagement Session]

Matt and Heather’s story is all about perfect timing. They came into each others lives at just the right moment. In fact, almost too perfect. Could this be? Can love be this real? This true? This perfect? Absolutely, yes.

One year after their first date Matt proposed (and she said yes!). One year from their engagement they will be married. The timing is perfect.

Their love is palpable and their laughter is contagious!! I knew this session was going to be fun and fabulous when this was the first image I captured:

As much as they enjoy every moment together they are also so tender and sweet. Melt.

Oooo La La!! ;)

Let’s not forget to give Matt an extra pat on the back for his choice of bling – well done Matt!

I’ll close with two of my favorites. I couldn’t pick just one. Which is your favorite?

Matt and Heather, thank you for sharing your evening with me. It brought me so much joy to see your love. You are so comfortable in front of the camera because what you have is so real. I’m honored you chose me to capture your love. I hope you enjoy your preview!

A Love Story – [Lydia & Blake]

Everyone who met them knew they belonged together.

Lydia met Blake when he was interviewing for a job at her home church.

Fast forward to this summer… the church needed summer help and Lydia, who was home after graduating college, was the perfect fit. Blake and Lydia worked together every day this summer. They saw each other work through difficult situations and they saw each other’s strengths (and weaknesses too). They liked what they saw. They were a perfect compliment to each other. On a trip this summer Blake saw Lydia as a perfect support at work and wondered if maybe there could be something more.

As the summer neared to a close Blake was confident in his feelings for Lydia. She felt the same way.

They rang in the New Year with a new, beautiful, shiny ring and a “YES!” Now begins a new chapter. The chapter where they share with the world the love that is theirs. They are giddy to be with each other.  Their laughter, their hugs, their kisses, their joy was pure, happy – a wonderful thing to witness.

We enjoyed a gorgeous January day (I’m not being sarcastic) at the Liriodenron. If you’ve never been to visit please do. It is a gorgeous public mansion/historic site located in the center of Bel Air. A true gem.

Ahh! I love this! Lydia and Blake beneath the wisteria. Magic!

They are naturally their best when they are together. I asked them just to “be” – and they were. It was perfect.

I love this one too (alright, alright, I love them all)! They are so happy it just oozes from them. Their love is so true.

My favorite. Genuine love. It’s a beautiful thing.

Can you feel the love?

Congratulations Lydia and Blake! It was an honor to capture some images of your love. You are truly a very special couple. The love that you have for one another is such a joy. Enjoy your preview!

Meant to Be – [Lauren & Joe]

Sometimes you just know when love is meant to be.

It seems that with these two,  love was just around the corner. Lauren and Joe grew up in the same area and traveled within the same circles but never met. One of Lauren’s closest friends is Joe’s cousin. It wasn’t until Lauren moved to Tennessee that her friend decided  Joe and Lauren finally HAD to meet. Lauren was reluctant but finally agreed; love was meant to be. That was almost exactly a year ago.

Just before Thanksgiving Joe surprised Lauren (which is not easily done) with a ring for her left ring finger. She said “yes”! Now they are planning their forever. Sometimes you just know when love is meant to be.

We met at Ripken Stadium in Aberdeen, Maryland, for their (very chilly) engagement session. Joe has always had a deep love for baseball and they went on several dates to watch the Ironbirds, so this seemed like the perfect spot.

One of the themes of their session and their love is definitely laughter. They absolutely love to make each other laugh. Their love is palpable through their laughter.

Their seats.

I’m certain that this dugout has never seen kissing! They are so adorable!

Can’t you just feel their love?!

Alright Joe, here it is. The proof that you’re totally, absolutely, smitten. I love this picture, it’s one of my favorites from the session. Lauren, you are gorgeous!

We had an amazing time going through all of the ins and outs of the stadium with special thanks to Lauren’s uncle Tony (thank you Tony!!). Cal Ripken’s assistant, Glen, had the incredible idea to go to Cal Sr.’s field next door for a bird’s eye view of the field that is the replica of Orioles stadium (Camden Yards). So cool!

I’ll finish with this picture. I love it. I love the way they love each other. I love the way they laugh and the way they look at each other. I love when love is meant to be.

Thank you Lauren and Joe for choosing me to capture your love. You’re both fabulous!

Baltimore Engagment: Leanne & Steve

I had the privilege of capturing Leanne & Steve on the hottest day of the year; what’s a heat index of 115 when you’re having fun?!

Baltimore (and L & S) were beautiful nonetheless! Their patient, quiet love makes them a perfect combination and it is a joy to be their photographer.

We all loved this alley – it’s so very Baltimore.

You can just see the love between them!

They’ve been together for 5 years and in just 6 weeks they’ll finally be Mr & Mrs.

I’m very much looking forward to your special day; I can’t wait to capture every moment! I hope you enjoy your preview!

Baltimore Engagement: Robyn & Wes

“Soy hazelnut latte, please.”

It starts at a tiny corner cafe in the heart of Baltimore’s Federal Hill: a first meeting, a first look, a first smile, a first laugh, a first date.

Robyn & Wes share much more than a first date together. They both have a passion for caring for people and are both in the medical field. They love the city and they know every fabulous nook. They love food: yummy, delicious food of all varieties and kinds. They love each other.

Robyn & Wes wanted to celebrate their love and engagement by revisiting their favorite spots in the city where their love bloomed. We visited the gorgeous historical waterfront community, Fell’s Point; the place of their first date, Koba Cafe; and their home with their two adorable sons – dogs.

They are planning a winter wedding in New Jersey and I am beyond thrilled not only to know them and their genuine love but also to share in capturing it. Below are some images from our beautiful morning in the city…

Wes always has a way of making Robyn laugh!

Robyn – seriously, you’re GORGEOUS!

This was the point in the session where Wes quietly said to Robyn, I’m going to marry you… (insert melt)

The backdrop of the city was a perfect reflection of their style and her love for all things modern and traditional all wrapped into one. Oh yeah, and they’re totally fierce!

This is my favorite of the day – it’s just them: so happy, so fabulous, so in love.

What’s a session without a family portrait? Here’s Ray & Carter being perfect model dogs (this is the only picture that Ray’s mouth isn’t open – HA!)

At the end of our session Wes remarked that he was getting so excited for the wedding. They have a few boxes to pack, a move to make, new jobs to start, and a new home to settle into; but in just a few short months they will be Mr. and Mrs.  I am so excited to capture their commitment and their love on that special day!
