Summer Splash

Posted by Meggan on Jul 21st 2009 in Personal and Uncategorized

Okay, I know that I’m taking the theme a little out of the box but this has truly been our summer!!! We have been on vacation and it seems that this particular “splash” has become the most integral part of our trip! Oh potty training!!! I’m just so glad that it is summer so she can be “al natural”.

4th of July - 2009

Posted by Meggan on Jul 7th 2009 in Uncategorized

We had such a wonderful day together. The 4th of July was overcast and perfect - cool weather all morning. We enjoyed going to Wilmore (where Kevin goes to school - it’s about a 3 minute drive down our street). They had a morning parade and then a craft/fun festival after wards at the local campground.

Faith loved her first parade (complete with CANDY!), her first Ale-8 (she is a Kentucky girl after all), dancing to live music with her friends, $0.25 hot dogs, and her very first fireworks display. It was such a fun day!!collage-web

Below are a few pictures of the parade. Wilmore is the most charming little community and it has such a Mayberry feel. People are friendly and everyone is your neighbor - it’s like stepping back in time - if only for a moment. Please note the lawnmower men - a yearly parade tradition. About 50 guys push their lawnmowers through the parade - complete with their own choreography! It was so funny! And I couldn’t leave out the blue eyed horse!
